Our history

Justice Ophthalmics was a family company that served eye care practices for more than 30 years.

It started with Johnny Justice, Jr. He was raised in an orphanage in rural North Carolina and went on to become an internationally recognized pioneer in fluorescein angiography. He trained as a medical photographer at Duke University Hospital and the Durham VA Hospital from 1957 to 1962. In the early 1960s he helped establish angiography at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and later he set up the first angiography lab at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He joined the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine in 1971 and became an Assistant Professor at the Cullen Eye Institute in 1976. In 1978 he was a principal founding member of the Ophthalmic Photographers’ Society, which later named a scholarship award after him. The American Academy of Ophthalmology honored him in 1973.

In 1981 he opened the Angiogram Reading Center in Houston, and in 1986 he moved it, and the family, to Memphis. In 1992 he and Carol P. Justice, CRA-COA, founded Justice Ophthalmics to give eye care practices a reliable source for ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, surgical and office supplies, and diagnostic dyes. Their rule was simple: give the doctors and their staffs what they want, when they want it.

Justice Ophthalmics served practices for 34 years. The company dissolved in 2026, and Keeler USA took on its customer list. Chad Justice joined Keeler USA as an Account Representative, so the practices that knew Justice Ophthalmics still reach the same contact.

The site itself is powered by Justice Apex Inc, which builds the ordering tools behind it.
