Our Story

About Justice Ophthalmics

Family owned and operated since 1992 — built on a foundation of innovation, service, and dedication to eye care professionals.

Our Founder: Johnny Justice, Jr.

The story of Justice Ophthalmics begins long before the company was formed. Our founder, Johnny Justice, Jr., was raised in an orphanage in rural North Carolina and went on to become an internationally recognized pioneer in fluorescein angiography.

He trained and worked as a medical photographer at Duke University Hospital and the Durham VA Hospital from 1957 to 1962. In the early 1960s, he co-established angiography at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, collaborating "hand in glove" with investigative physicians during the era when the technique first gained worldwide adoption.

From Angiography to Distribution

In 1981, Professor Justice opened the Angiogram Reading Center in Houston. In 1986, he moved the Center — and his family — to centrally located Memphis, Tennessee.

By 1992, after decades of innovation in clinical photography and retinal imaging, Professor Justice and his high school sweetheart, Carol P. Justice (CRA-COA, retired), founded Justice Ophthalmics.

Their mission was simple but powerful: to provide ophthalmologists, optometrists, and surgery centers with a consistently reliable source for:

  • Ophthalmic Pharmaceuticals
  • Medical, Surgical, and Office Supplies
  • Diagnostic Fluorescein and ICG Dyes
  • Angio-Paks and related products

"Give the doctors and their staffs what they want — when they want it."
